Corporal Luis Silva has been with the Utah Highway Patrol since 2018; he has spent his career in Davis County as a road Trooper. Corporal Silva was assigned as the Recruiter and Social Media Coordinator in 2023 at our Headquarters Division in Salt Lake City.

“I am proud to call myself a State Trooper and I am thankful for the opportunities the position has brought. I grew up here in Utah and I’ve known my whole life that I wanted to work in law enforcement.

At first I didn’t know where in law enforcement I wanted to work. I was told by a good friend, and former trooper, to look into working for UHP. Being a Trooper opened so many new opportunities and I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime.

I’m thankful to be in a position where I can help others start down the same path.”
