

The Department of Public Safety's Major Crimes Team is committed to providing specialized investigations and assistance to law enforcement and the public.
The Major Crimes Team handles the majority of complex fraud, violent-crime, and major-crime investigations conducted by the Utah Department of Public Safety.
In 2008 and 2009 the Major Crimes Team opened over 350 cases resulting in over 140 arrests and prosecutions. These cases include investigations into Suspicious Deaths and Homicides, Officer Involved Critical Incidents, Threats Against the State Capitol, Complex Financial Frauds, and Identity Theft.
The Major Crimes Team also assists Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement agencies when requested and participates in several State and Federal Task Forces.
