Special events and holiday traffic to overlap
The Utah Department of Transportation is urging drivers heading to Park City through Parleys Canyon this weekend to plan ahead and strongly consider an alternate route.

With drivers traveling to the Deer Valley Musical Festival, Concerts on the Slopes or recreation spots in the Wasatch Back, and a paving project in Parleys Canyon, UDOT expects major delays on Interstate 80 this weekend.
I-80 will be down to one lane in each direction on the evenings of July 25 and 26 for a paving project from the mouth of the canyon to Mountain Dell Reservoir (Exits 131-134). Eastbound lane restrictions may start as early as 7 p.m., with westbound restrictions beginning by 10:30 p.m. each night.
UDOT urges drivers to take Provo Canyon or Interstate 84 as alternate routes.
“We know construction isn’t easy, and want everyone to enjoy their time off and have a relaxing weekend,” UDOT Traveler Information Director Becky Parker said. “So plan ahead, leave early or take the alternate routes so that you don’t feel rushed or stressed while driving up to Park City.”
Drivers can also check the UDOT Traffic app or website for the latest traffic updates, including access to traffic cameras from Parleys Canyon and across the state.
