Service on TRAX Green Line to airport suspended for two days for UDOT construction

North Temple to also close while crews will work on I-215/North Temple bridge

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Oct. 17, 2025) — The Utah Department of Transportation and Utah Transit Authority will temporarily close a segment of the TRAX Green Line as well as a section of North Temple this weekend.

On October 18-19, all stops between North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe Station and Airport Station on the TRAX Green Line will be suspended as UDOT crews work on the Interstate 215 bridge at North Temple.

Additionally, on October 17-19, North Temple will be closed from Redwood Road to 2400 West, though locals still have access to homes and businesses.

During this closure, crews will build a temporary deck under the bridge to safely catch debris and other materials during upcoming demolition and construction work.

To access stops on the Green Line in this area during this time, UTA will run buses between the North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe Station and Airport stations. Riders should plan for an extra 30-45 minutes of travel time.

Regular TRAX Green Line service will resume on October 20.

“With fall break underway, we want to make sure travelers know about the closure so they can plan ahead and avoid missing a flight,” UDOT Public Relations Director John Gleason said.

This work is part of the I-215 West Improved project, which is repaving three miles of freeway, improving 14 miles of ramps on State Route 201, Interstate 80 and California Avenue, and repaving 22 bridges to keep them in good condition for years to come.
