Lake Powell Ferry Crossing

The ferry is not operating.

Spring and summer operations will resume Thursday, May 22nd, 2025.

State Route 276 runs through the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and crosses Lake Powell via the Charles Hall Ferry. Travel time over the water takes approximately 25 minutes. This does not include loading, unloading, and travel times on roads within the park. The ferry’s southern port is at Hall’s Crossing and the northern port is at Bullfrog.  


Current Ramp Locations:

  • Bullfrog: Use the public North Launch Ramp. Take the first right after the Visitor’s Center parking lot.
  • Halls Crossing: Use the public ramp located on the first left past the Hall’s Crossing RV Campground.

Upcoming Schedule (Thursdays through Sundays)

The ferry will also operate on Memorial Day May 26th and Labor Day September 1st.

Beginning May 22, 2025

  • 10:00 a.m. Departs Halls Crossing
  • 11:00 a.m. Departs Bullfrog
  • 12:00 p.m. Departs Halls Crossing
  • 1:00 p.m. Departs Bullfrog
  • 2:00 p.m. Departs Halls Crossing
  • 3:00 p.m. Departs Bullfrog
  • 4:00 p.m. Departs Halls Crossing
  • 5:00 p.m. Departs Bullfrog

Fares: (One-way)

  • $10.00  Pedestrians and Bicyclists (Age 5 and under ride free.)
  • $15.00  Motorcycles
  • $25.00  Vehicles (Includes driver and passengers.)
  • Any vehicle over 20 feet will be charged $1.50 per foot for the entire length of the vehicle.

Payment is currently by credit card or cash. (No checks.)

The Charles Hall Ferry is capable of carrying cars, trucks, RVs and trailers. The ferry fare depends on the size of the vehicle.  National Park gate entrance fees are not required if you are only entering to ride the ferry.  

The ferry does not operate if water levels in the lake drop below 3565 feet in elevation. The ferry does not take reservations. Ridership is based on a first-come, first served basis.
