Deicing Dashboard

UDOT Maintenance Crews work tirelessly during winter operations to keep Utah’s Roads safe and operational. A key portion of this effort involves applying deicing products. UDOT uses a variety of different deicing products, depending on the pavement, storm characteristics, and environmental conditions, to help reduce the build up of ice and snow on the roadway. The following *interactive reports have been prepared to provide transparency and show the amount of products purchased by UDOT per type and vendor.

Fiscal Year Cost Over Dashboard Details

  • Reports the quantity (cubic yards) and dollar amount UDOT spent purchasing deicer from a qualified vendor, other than the low bid vendor. Fiscal Year is defined from July 1st to June 30th
  • Cost differential is calculated as the amount more UDOT spent by not going to the low bidder of that category

    • *Report can be filtered by Deicing Category, UDOT Region, UDOT Maintenance Shed

All *Interactive Dashboards use data from UDOT financial reports where UDOT converts tons purchased to cubic yards using conversion rates specific to each product. The data being displayed in this dashboard is the most current information processed through UDOT’s accounting and maintenance systems and cannot be considered as “Real Time.”
