Welcome to the Fly Utah Passport Program!

Fall 2025 Updates
New requirements for the Passport Program that are being implemented, effective immediately. Please review the updated guidelines and ensure compliance to remain eligible for awards.
Changes to the program:
- Flying is now required in order to participate.
- To receive credit for a flight, you must be Pilot In Command. Passengers are not eligible to log flights for the program.
- You will have one year, 365 calendar days, from the start date recorded in your booklet to complete all challenges.
- Photos will now be required as proof of visit to the navigation arrows.

The Utah Division of Aeronautics has partnered with the Utah Airport Operators Association to bring you a new and improved Fly Utah Passport Program!
We are thrilled to have you embark on a journey across the State of Utah with the Fly Utah Passport Program! This initiative invites aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and explorers to discover the State’s rich aviation history, airports, and aviation landmarks.
**Any participant that has already collected online check-ins will also be credited the same visits towards the new challenges. You may skip collecting the physical stamp for the visit you’ve already completed and simply notify us to review the online check-in system upon completion to ensure credit is applied for sites already visited.
New Fly Utah Passport Program
How do I participate?
Each participant will need their own passport booklet. These booklets will be available for pick up at the following locations:
- UDOT Division of Aeronautics office, 135 N 2400 W, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84116. On the east side of Salt Lake International.
- South Valley Regional Airport
- St. George Regional Airport
Once you’ve picked up your booklet, you’re ready to begin your adventure!

New and Improved CHALLENGES!
Challenge 1:
- Visit all 46 public use airports in Utah, and collect the corresponding stamp or take a photo.
- Each airport has differing amenities, please be sure to CLICK HERE for a description of where to find the stamp at each location!
- A wallet size photo (2″x3″) will fit in the passport booklet. If you wish not to print photos for proof of completion, please compile all photos at the end of the challenge and send them to flyutah@utah.gov, with your name and “Challenge 1 Airport Photos” in the subject line.

- Visit at least one of the four aviation museums and collect the corresponding stamp.
- Hill Aerospace Museum (Hill Air Force Base | Layton, UT)
- Historic Wendover Airfield Museum (Wendover, UT)
- Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum (St. George, UT)
- CAF Utah Wing WWII Aviation Museum (Heber City, UT)
- Attend one FAA Safety Seminar and provide either a signature from the instructor or proof of WINGS credit.
Challenge 2:
- Visit all 8 publicly accessible navigation arrows and submit photographic proof of each visit.
- Need help locating an arrow? Check here!
- Most arrows require hiking and a high clearance vehicle. Please be prepared for the terrain.
- A wallet size photo (2″x3″) will fit in the passport booklet. If you wish not to print photos for proof of completion, please compile all photos at the end of the challenge and send them to flyutah@utah.gov, with your name and “Navigation Arrows” in the subject line.
Challenge 3:
- Visit 20 public use backcountry airstrips and submit photographic proof of each visit.
- Photos must include yourself, or your aircraft on the airstrip to count.
- A wallet size photo (2″x3″) will fit in the passport booklet. If you wish not to print photos for proof of completion, please compile all photos at the end of the challenge and send them to flyutah@utah.gov, with your name and “Backcountry photos” in the subject line.
