UDOT Safety and Health Manual
This manual outlines a safety and health program for the prevention of job-related accidents, health issues, and traveling public impacts during the construction of UDOT projects. An objective of this program is to assure that all personnel and traveling public are treated as the most important asset of highway construction projects.
Public Records & Claims Administration
- Public Records Requests (GRAMA Request Portal) UDOT is committed to transparency in public records access under Utah’s GRAMA law. We strive to fulfill requests efficiently. This link provides information on how to submit a GRAMA request and what details to include for a faster response.
- Report A Damage Claim If your vehicle or property was damaged by a pothole, road condition, or construction issue on a state-maintained road, you can submit a claim for evaluation through this link. While UDOT reviews all properly submitted damage claims, claims may be reimbursed only where negligence is clearly demonstrated.
Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP)
UDOT’s Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) provides comprehensive liability protection for large-scale highway construction projects (over $75M). This program safeguards taxpayer investments by shielding both UDOT and its contractors from catastrophic losses. Furthermore, the Rolling OCIP fosters an optimized construction safety environment through systematic, proactive inspections, directly coordinated with private-sector insurance providers.
